Using Web 2.0 technology in the classroom

"Anyone with an Interent browser can write to the web with very little technical knowledge" (Dina Rosen and Charles Nelson). Many  students may have computers but stuggle with learning how to use them. I know I do. By making the Web 2.0 any student can learn how to blog and write information on the computer. This Web can be important especially with students with disabilties because they can find people on the Web to relate to and converse with just like every other student. Students can talk about homework on the computer and it may be able to help them solve the problem. The drawbacks to this Web 2.0 feature for students with special needs is that some have visual impairments, or physical impairments that unable them to work with a regular computer. So how would they make use of this new Web. Blogging is a very useful tool for students, but does it accomodate to all students out there? A lot of classrooms are inclusive now so students with disabilties are set in a general education classroom. The Web can bring the students closer together and realize each others similarties and differences.They can find out who likes to read the same books as they do, or listen to the same kind of music as they do as well. Web 2.0 is a very useful tool for students, but I don't know how well it is yet to accomodating certain people with special needs to this type of world.
